Taking on one of my first blogged projects, remaking a couch.

I have always liked making things. I go through phases. There was my cake decorating phase, my polymer clay phase, my embroidery phase, my jewelry-making phase, my--well you get the idea. I started this blog as a documentation of sorts. I don't pretend to be an expert and I dabble a lot. I am keeping this blog mostly for me; I like having a way to remember what I have done and how it did or did not work out. Still, welcome to anyone who might find my escapades remotely interesting.

I am not perfect in my crafting and I mess up a lot. I will usually fully acknowledge the wrong turns I took on my way to an end result. This does make my posts a little on the long side (being a bit long-winded doesn't help), but I don't edit this out because this is meant to be a documentation, not rosy retrospection. I don't want to create an illusion that everything works out for me; it doesn't. I also just like to tell stories (probably a bit too much), and lets face it, mess-ups are usually the best stories. If you are ever curious about how things have held up after the post, please don't hesitate to ask.

As to where I am in life, my husband, two sons, and I just moved to a new city (that I had never been to before the move) for his first full-time job as a robotics engineer now that he finished his electrical engineering masters. I work as a chaos wrangler--that is to say I stay at home with our adorable, energetic boys--and I couldn't love my job more. I have been away from the blog for a few months (my husband's last semester of grad school and our cross-country move), but hope to get blogging more in the next few weeks.

I blog for fun. No one pays me and I don't have ads on my site nor do I ever mention a product because I was paid to do so. I won't say that will never change, but it isn't going to change for a while yet. I am not at a point in my life where I have the time for such a major project as a blog for profit.
